Mary O'Shea

Born in England to a Filipino Mother & Irish Father, Mary spent much of her childhood in the Philippines & America. Mary has been singing & playing the violin since the age of 7 and gained a music scholarship at Abbots Bromley School before studying BA (hons) Performing Arts at the University of Winchester.
Mary's early performances include playing at the Royal Albert Hall in the presence of H.R.H Prince Edward (1997) and performing with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under Sir Simon Rattle & Sir Mark Elder.
Mary's EP DollyO was recorded in London & Illinois back in 2008 and was mastered at Metropolis by Tony Cousins.
Since moving to Devon, Mary has worked with Counterpoint Choir , St Peter's Singers & The Starling Octet, performing in such venues as Exeter Cathedral & Buckfast Abbey.
Currently, Mary is a Soprano for Antiphon (www.antiphon.uk) and also sings with the Buckfast Abbey Choir, having recently recorded theGregorian Chant CD. She has also worked with various accompanists including John Scarfe & is currently working with FrancesWaters on local projects and can often be heard on BBC Radio Somerset & Exeter Phonic FM.
In addition to her more classical work, Mary is part of an Irish band called 'Greenfingers', where she is the singer as well as one of four fiddle players and the bodhran player.
As well as music, Mary has a great passion for dance and has studied ballet, tap & contemporary dance as well as Salsa & traditional Filipino dance. She has danced on numerous occasions with ALFFFA.
